Qualifications
Prose Wizard’s primary admissions consultant, Dana Crum, is a Princeton graduate with a diverse background in the field: he has served as an application reader in Princeton’s Admission Office, a freelance admissions consultant, a college-admissions-essay instructor for Story To College and an English teacher at Horace Mann, where he wrote innumerable college recommendations and served as academic adviser to students in grades 9 through 12. Crum’s background enables him to view the application and college-preparation process from all perspectives. The many years he has spent teaching, tutoring, editing and writing (he is an award-winning poet, essayist and novelist) complement his 7 years of admissions experience. His students have not only gained admission to Ivy League schools but have also won Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, the same awards Sylvia Plath, Joyce Carol Oates and Truman Capote won as teens.
